Life of a leaf in NOIDA……..

…………It was new yr eve and as planned, I wanned it  spent gazing at the night sky. It was another chilly evening in my place, the wind threatening to send a Iceberg down my spine with a look so morbid. I was just out of my house when the bigger hand of my clock was sensuously lying atop the other hand. It was midnight. My house was silent that evening as everyone in my house had left me in solitude. I just had the ravenous wind and the nature to be with...................

Along my house is a small river which kisses our neighborhood and goes in search of..?? ….I really dunno where it ends…..watever….We have a small bridge which takes a leap over this river and connects us to the Outside world. Just as I could feel the bitterness of the wind, there was one more thing that was pretty disturbed by the wind. The leaves of the peepal tree, which were just in their teens, too was admonishing the wind as the wind kissed them again and again with its blood sucking lips. The anger of the leaves could be seen as they fluttered viciously and were trying to hide themselves under their neighboring leaves. It was a battle worth watching; more interesting than seeing The Undertaker and Batista hoodwink us with their physical appearance. I, the moon, which was seen down the brink and the nature, were the only spectators of this gladiatorial fight. The leaves resembled David and the wind, the Goliath, but mere resemblance doesn’t bring about the same result. After a while, the leaves caved in, and the wind molested the leaves with vehemence. It was a pedophilic act. The leaves were in tatters and could be seen dangling looking at the sky for one last time with a smile as they glided from the tree disgracefully one by one and rested their corpse on a bed of water. I stood there on the bridge, watching helplessly as a drop of tear from my eye fell into the river and washed away their dirt on the leaves …..But the stains still remain… clear to the world…..

Well, the Noida serial killing incident has left many thunderstruck. I really hated to celebrate this New Year after such an inhumane act. All I can do is pray for the souls of these young leaves to rest in peace.
